Smile, it’s free! The Center for Dental Excellence will be hosting its second annual Dentistry With A Heart event, Saturday, October 3, 2009 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. where they will provide free dentistry for those in need. Each patient may choose from 1 free extraction, 1 free filling or a free cleaning.
167 people received free dental work at the 2008 Dentistry With A Heart event in Dickson from the services provided by Dr. DeLoach with help from Dr.’s Burr, Savell, Clark, Adkisson and several hygienists, assistants and volunteers.
Dentistry With A Heart was started in 2001 by Dr. Vincent Moticcilo with a single event in FL and this year the non-profit will see 29 states join the effort with 60 planned free dentistry events . Last year the organization and volunteers across the nation helped over 10,000 patients find their smile again, and that equaled about 2.5 million dollars worth of donated dentistry.
It is reported that over 100 million people are without dental insurance either because they are unemployed or their employer doesn’t carry it. Unfortunately, some people are unable to afford dental help and yet do not qualify for financial assistance or government aid. And lets face it, when your funds are low, often times the thing that gets neglected is your teeth! This event will help those who need dental work but can not afford to pay for it.
This free dental event has the potential to not only relieve some dental pain, but also make your smile brighter!
This is a first-come first-served event, you will not be able to make an appointment and I believe folks line up pretty early to get free dental work. For more information about this local event check out www.dicksondentist.com or call 446-2372.
