DICKSON, Tenn. — Dozens of pit bulls rescued from a dog-fighting ring in Kentucky received some human attention Monday. Some of the puppies spent free time outside of their shelters in Dickson County, running and playing.
One of the dogs with some of the worst wounds got his first checkup with a veterinarian, who said the outlook is good.

Currently, the rescue group for the dogs needs donations and dog food. Checks can be dropped off at Dr. Ray Carroll's office in Dickson.
Residents can purchase dog food at the Dickson Tractor Supply Co. store, which will then make sure it gets to the dogs.
