Staph Infection Hospitalizes Student

CHARLOTTE, Tenn. — A high school student in Dickson County has been hospitalized because of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA.

The Creek Wood High School student is in the hospital because of blood clots related to the infection. MRSA is the most serious form of staph infection.

The school's director notified the school board last week.

Creek Wood High School is taking extra precautions to disinfect tables, bathrooms and locker rooms.
